Prudential Singapore Wins Quality Work-Life Award By Singapore Human Resources Institute

  • Prudential wins award for providing programmes for employees’ good physical and mental health

Singapore, 17 July 2014 – Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (Pte) Limited (Prudential Singapore) was conferred the Leading HR Practices Award in Quality Work-Life, Physical & Mental Well-Being at the Singapore HR Awards 2014 held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The award from the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) recognises organisations that have achieved overall effectiveness in their HR and people management functions, which contribute to the needs of businesses, professionals, employees and the industry.

Prudential Singapore’s Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer Gan Peck Yeow was also conferred the Leading HR Leader Award. Ms Gan accepted the two awards at a ceremony on 11 July 2014.

Ms Gan said: “This achievement is a strong endorsement of our commitment towards delivering innovative and quality employee engagement programmes, as well as offering meaningful wellness programmes and activities for all our employees.

“It serves as a timely reinforcement of our focus to build Prudential’s brand as an attractive employer of choice. We will continue to deliver on all fronts to build an even more engaged and high performing workplace. This award is but one recognition that goes to prove that we are heading in the right direction.”

The Quality Work-Life, Physical and Well-Being Award recognises organisations which inform employees of health-related issues and matters, and at the same time, provide a platform and/or programmes that enable employees to have good physical and mental health.

Prudential Singapore Chief Executive Officer Tomas Urbanec said: “Winning this award is an endorsement of our efforts and commitment to developing our staff through well placed initiatives. This can only work to make Prudential Singapore an employer of choice.”

Prudential was also recently conferred the Plaque of Commendation (Gold) Award by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), becoming the first insurance company to receive the commendation. The award is presented to companies that have made significant and consistent contributions towards promoting good industrial relations, ensuring workers’ welfare and workfare.

These awards are an affirmation of Prudential’s focus on employee relations and welfare among other exemplary HR practices.
