SINGAPORE, 14 November 2017 – More than 100 children and senior citizens from four community organisations were the first in Singapore to enjoy a preview of the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival today, ahead of its official opening on Friday.

Aged from seven to 97 years young, the participants were accompanied by 60 Prudential Singapore volunteers on a tour of the carnival fairgrounds which featured more than 40 games and rides for visitors of all ages.

The participating voluntary welfare organisations (VWOs) included Fei Yue Senior Activity Centre, MINDS Gardens Woodlands School, the Community of Praise Baptist Church and the Lions Befrienders Ang Mo Kio Senior Activity Centre.

To celebrate the festive season, Prudential employees presented the children and senior citizens with gifts they had wished for through The Boys’ Brigade Adopt-a-Wish project. These included items such as school bags, electrical appliances, toys, watches and learning devices.

Last month, Prudential pledged S$2 million to its long-time community partner, The Boys’ Brigade. The funds will be disbursed over 10 years and will go towards providing healthy food hampers to beneficiaries under the Share-A-Gift Programme. Prudential volunteers have also remained committed towards the cause by pledging their time to help with the packing and delivery of food hampers to beneficiaries’ homes for the past nine years.

Prudential is the title sponsor of the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival, which officially opens its doors to the public tomorrow and will run till 1 April 2018.
